Financial Planning FAQs
Our Financial Services:
What can I expect during a financial consultation?
Our goal is to help you define the purpose behind your money so you can expand your vision of what you think is possible. Together, we build on that vision to create and implement a financial plan that helps you meet your goals. We’ll start with a 15-minute “get to know you” meeting to make sure we’re the right fit for you. This is followed by a 45-minute consultation to talk through a financial plan. At this point, you can decide whether to implement the plan we design for you or become a TimeWise Financial client and let us manage your money on an ongoing basis. Learn more about our process.
How often do you meet with your clients?
Communication with our clients is extremely important so you can count on unlimited access any time an event changes your financial picture, or you simply have questions. We also schedule two formal meetings annually. One meeting to revisit your financial plan and make sure your goals are still on track and a second to follow up on any outstanding tasks. We also send out regular educational content and invitations to participate in our client events.
Can you help me plan for retirement?
We can help you plan for retirement and so much more! Together, we’ll explore what it means to you to live a meaningful life and then develop a tax-smart financial plan to ensure your money empowers you live it.
Do you help with budgeting?
Instead of trying to change bad spending habits, we choose to educate our clients to make the best spending decisions. We’ll look at your unique situation and develop a budget that clearly outlines how much of your assets we feel it’s safe for you to spend without running out of money. If that’s not a budget you can work within, then we’ll revise your financial plan by identifying opportunities to reduce your monthly costs. We may revisit the idea of you increasing assets through more aggressive investing, working longer, and saving more.
Are you a Certified Financial PlannerTM?
Yes. We offer the services of a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM to help you get the most ethical and knowledgeable financial planning advice we can offer.
Do you offer tax planning?
We offer both tax and financial planning services for individuals, couples, and families who need expert advice to help maximize their assets. Our tax-smart investment strategies are designed to reduce your tax liability so you can keep more of what you earn.
What other services do you offer?
We offer comprehensive services including investment advice, financial planning, insurance, and tax planning services.
How are you compensated?
We are fee-only financial planners, so you can rest assured that you are only paying for the investment and financial planning services you need. We can design a holistic plan that you implement for a one-time flat fee or take the guesswork out of the ongoing management of your wealth for a fee based on a percentage of the assets we manage.
For example, if we are doing a great job and your assets increase in value, we get compensated for that, but if your account value decreases we would also be negatively impacted by the downturn. As you can see, it is in both of our best financial interests to do the absolute best we can for you and your accounts.
Can you work with my tax professional?
Yes! We offer comprehensive tax and financial planning services, but we’re also happy to work with other financial, legal, and estate planning professionals to help you reach your financial goals.
